Fix lowsec yo

Howdy.
I am jumping on the "fix lowsec now not in 18 months" bandwagon.
I was inspired by one of my new favourite reads AGRESSIVE TENDENCIES.
-That while I may not have the ideas and wit of Spec, I can try to help point the public in his direction ;)

So EVERYONE go and read/assimilate the wisdom of SPECTRE

Then if you are a blogger of such go sign up for the UEB!

Even if I now live out in 0.0 I still feel lowsec needs more work/love.
Please CCP, do not push us away, we are your lifeblood.. you are the body we pump around in!

Now to go pump someone full of 800mm repeating artillery slugs!

Alt-itis

Aaaand I am back in the trap.

The Alt-sickness has taken over me anew!
It started way back when my wife stopped playing and I started using her account for hauling and trading etc etc.. It was a comfortable, but sadly an extra montly fee.

A few months back I figured I could stop that account and manage with just the one.. but sadly EvE is kind of made for dual-boxing and I have alt-itis. (cant refrain from making more alts!)
So now I am back with two accounts.. and 6 characters to manage ;)

It does feel good in a way, now I feel I can get carriers and such, and not worrying about others providing cyno wherever I want to go.. also with PI you can get more toons cranking out PI goods everywhere!
If you dont know what PI means your not playing EvE..and this is an EvE blog, so I wont teach you what you should know! *shakesfist*

So Helicity Boson (old corpmate from Python, who is also behind HULKAGEDDON) shared his idea of having an alt fly off into wormhole space, and do his Planetary Interaction there.
So now I have settled three planets full of aliens, where I churn out goods from two, and uses the third to refine the P1 products further.(more planets to come when he skills up)

I am also making POS fuel for my research-POS from one character.. and my trading-alt is now making P4 things out of P3 things, just outside the tradehub.

The gears of industry be grinding!

"Idustry you say? I thought this was a PvP blog"
Well it has been slow in Providence lately.. not had time to attend the big things, but my corp has really become active and we´ve had some fun roams down into Delve and lowsec Amarr-space (where we are nbsi)
We also had a T1 cruiser tournament that I felt I did really well in.. until the finals where I encountered the Maller of Doooom!
Second place not bad though, had great fun.

Ooh and T2 Autos are 3days from completion \o/
I trained Arties first.. as we were using sniper-BS most at that time.. but as soon as I got em.. alliance went all RRBS all the time
(our RRBS minniefits uses autos) :)

Ooh, and I found the first sig I used for Yargok today!
Now go read how Python CRUSHES FACEPLANTE !

Python Recruits!

I thought it would be a good way to start up my writing again with a little help to my old corpmates.

The Python Cartel is recruiting!
---------------------------------------------
Here is some info from Andrea Skye:

Python has been around for nearly 3 years now (including original python) and our current variation has been round for over a year and were still as hard as ever.

Few things about our corp:

- We smack.. alot. If you don't like smack, we definitely aren't for you.
- We prioritize fun over everything else. If your a serious player who wants to win 100% of the time and don't like fails... we again.. aren't for you.
- Regular ops commanded by mostly drunk Fleet commanders.
- Small to medium gang warfare. We hardly ever blob. Most gangs have <10
What we are looking for:

- Moar EU/AUS pilots. Prio on EU.
- Pilots with a sense of humour
- Able to use vent and a mic (mic isn't mandatory, but very very encouraged)
- Activity. Don't bother joining if you log on once a month
- Pilots with initiative. Not pilots who just expect everything done for them. Going out soloing or forming your own gangs is very very encouraged.
- A little experience will go a long way. But if your app is good, and you seem like a good fit, we are willing to show you the ropes.
- We don't have a set SP requirement. Alot of our best pilots have been rifter noobs. We judge a character on attitude and experience, not how many SPs they have.

All that I need to do now is provide a link! here it is: http://www.swingnews.org/python/forum/index.php?board=3.0
------------------------------------------------------
I´d like to add that the Python Cartel was the most awesome corp that I has been a part of in ANY game.
They have competence, humor, teamspirit, great FCs, good leadership, and much much more.

When I left they had a lacking EU presence, and that is the reason I sought new hunting grounds, as it was a bit lonely during EU TZ, but as it looks like they have recruited some more EU players now, it may well be that Python is the most awesome corporation in new eden today!

Your first EvExperience.

I was looking at my contact list last night, and saw my old first character.. The poor thing was created in 04 and was played for a month or two, and then has been laying dormant.

But it got me thinking back on EvE in the days of yore, how I percieved the world in my short stint of playing back then..
How did you percieve the world and your role in it? What did you like, fear or was impressed by?

For myself, it is over 5years since I first tried EvE, and my memory of it is fuzzy.
It is mostly kept as images in my head, but the few details I remember is that I pretty quickly found a corporation that recruited me, and they were building ships.
I remember they were very helpful, and I was impressed with their generosity of giving me a mining vessel, but also remember how proud I felt that I got to take part of their business venture.
I think I helped them with research between the mining sessions..
I remember the first time I found a corpmate in space, with my little frigate I flew up and in a formation with him and his huge vessel. For all I know it was probably just a industrial or whatever, but being new you dont know what is kickass and what is ordinary :)
(Sidenote: the Mammoth should really be a fighting vessel.. that model look very "star-destroyer" like!)
I have some vague memories of finding ore belts and mining there, so proud I had found a good place rich with resources..
I have always liked the "hidden treasures" thing.. so to this day the allure of a cache of hacking cans rich with loot waiting to be found does appeal to me greatly ;)
I did not play very long on my first venture into EvE.. I remember I was disappointed that you could not steer your ships, as I have found it helps immersion.
Also, it was a very dark and dangerous place.. I could not imagine why some would freely go down in to the "red areas" I saw on my universe map, where it was lawless and unforgiving.
I mean, I worked very hard for my first ships, and why I would go down and loose them was beyond me at the time..This is my mental image is of how the universe looked back then.

I read stories of pilots going "down there" and some mean pirate would destroy their ship and kill them.. and I remember as I tried to fiddle in the market at the time it was very confusing with escrow and whatnots, so when I tried to make some money taking something from A-B to, it was always a bunch of "red-space" in the way.

So I went off to other games, but having returned to New Eden years later I always try to remember what it was like to be in this cold-harsh world alone and lost.. And how much I´ve learned and discovered since then.
The amazing part about EvE is that I´ve yet only to scratch the surface of things to do and learn.

So widen your horizons!
GO GO REDSPACE!

Blogwars!

Right, I was saying a while back that it would be interesting to compare all them bloggers for each side of the CvA/UK fights of the current war and see what they write about a single thing.
Now 9UY is a bigger victory in UKs eyes, but CvA did not fight back then, and I´ve found little posts from CvA about 9UY.. (guess they did not want that station anyway) :P
So I compiled all the articles and bloggings about the battle of D-GTMI I could find.
(Yes I know it was a while ago, but I been so busy with first the invasion of 9UY, then Sylph doing a goon and dropping sov in three systems, allowing us to CAPTURE J6QB!! -But they actually fought back this time, so there has been constant CTAs for a few days until yesterday.. Good times.

Anyway, here for your perusal are all the bloggers I could find writing about the D-GTMI fight.
(Feel free to send me additional ones I´ve missed.)
AAA/UK side:
Norses for Courses
Loaded Barrels
Ga´len the EvE Druid
RifterDrifter
EvE Monkey
A Mule in EvE
Biomassed
Bloodthirsty Miner (Fought for Provi but now anti CvA)
Wotlankor
Captains Log

Bloggers for the CvA/Proviblob side:
Escape Velocity
Kirith/Ninveah
Tul´s Space Stories
The Blackhand
Rettics Log
Fly along with me
Zamas Ramblings
Guns Ablaze
Mushskic
------------------------------
I must say personally I liked the IC reports/posts the most, being an old RPgamer.. Ga´lens was great.
But read em through and get yer own opinions ya lazy gits!

One thing I noticed that there were plenty of bloggers on each "side" not commentation on this particular subject, meaning there are plenty more bloggers out there!
-So if you are interested in the Provi/Catch area there are never a shortage of reading materials!

Fly baby fly.

Oh, and I´m on TWITTER now.. fell for it finally ;)

Tonight we dock in 9UY!

VICTORY!

No sorry, the station is now named UNITY -once again.

Here she is, back in Ushra´Khan hands again.

Busy cap-ships repairing the damage we sadly had to inflict upon her to regain control..

Now just to clean out the CvA stink and put our own stink in it!

To summarize.. We formed up early and made our way to 9UY to be in place first if CvA were to make a stand for the system (as this was the final timer, and they had not yet done so.)
The system was secured and no large enemy gangs were reported, only a 20man Paxton gang, but we felt it did not pose a large threat to our numbers.
So, the timer finally reached zero, no enemy in sight yet, so there was naught else to do then to shoot and claim the station!

I think I´ll print myself a bumpersticker to put on my ships:
"I was there at the UNITY station takeover, and all I got was a shuttlekill"

Random pictures to follow, now I´ll take a nap in our new station.

Stupid Carrier kills!

So it seems killing dumb carrier players who either failfit or are reckless with their big shiny ship is the latest rage..
I was reading the blogs of my former corp members in Python about how they killed a failfit dumb carrier in a belt..
Spectre, Skye, Langdon, Helicity, and a TBRA-dude has blogged about it.
And the very next day, I get to do the same!

You see, in the war against CVA+pets us Ushra´Khan and AAA has after taking the station in D-GTMI launched an attack on "9UY" -A very important tradehub and central traffic nexus for CVA.
The attack has not yet seen any resistance.. I dont know if they plan to let us have it for free or if they are running scared, but anyway..
While the big ships are doing their thing in attacking infrastructure hubs and the like, us support are spread around the gates and station, keeping it perma-bubbled and camped.
And since CVA has billions of assets in that station we have taken to keep a permanent presence there between timer-attacks.
It was during such a slow period, where we just chilled, circling the gate, when one of our scouts in the outlying systems yell on comms that he has found a carrier in an anomaly.
In fear that it might flee now that he is in system, he tackles it and hopes he can hold it until we arrive.
Sadly it had large neuts/smartbombs and managed to fend off our tackler before we got there.

Now, a smart individual would know that a few jumps away there are hundreds of more blood-thirsty enemies, and this lone one would have told his friends about the carrier.. so the smart guy would dock up.
We thought this was the case, but often in Providence there are plenty of the "not-so-smart-guy" category.

So our fleet held one system out and we sent in a neutral to try to scan him down and see if he were still in there..
Funny enough, when the neutral scout joined our fleet to go in there, someone in local warned everyone that he was a working for us!
It seems we had a spy in our fleet.
Funny, as Providence had accused -A- heavily on forums claiming meta-gaming and looking down their noses at spies and neutral informers.
So with the spy having tipped off the carrier we left and went back to 9UY and our camp..

However, after a while another neutral scout were sent off (not reported in fleet) to check if the carrier were really stupid enough to go back to the anomaly.
He was.
We were told by the FC to gather at the 49gate, as the carrier might get tackled.. "prepare to burn full speed"
And we did.
After making sure to stay out of his smartbombs there was naught else to to then grind him down.

We got him good.

The wreck of the once-mighty Thanatos.
Dead by the stupidity of its now-podded owner.

Such a waste.

A red sun rises..

Blood has been spilt this night.

As I drove to work this morning, I was met by a unusual red sunrise..
Got me thinkin about Legolas speech in the "Two towers" and how well it reflected what I saw last night in EvE.
Damn roaming in provispace is FUN!
I had a great day yesterday, with my day starting with riding some snowmobiles with me brothers, then after just a day for sale, my old snowmobile got sold and delivered!
I went inside to relax with some EvE and there was a inty/SB roam going on in Provi that Wotlankor FC´d, wich I promptly joined and flew to them with all haste.
He had some nice tricks, one in particular was great fun as it involved going into a system, scaring the miners/ratters and looking wich way they fled.. then bookmarking a spot in their way.. and leaving.
So after they thought we left, our interdictor warps in, bubbles a spot in their "flight-path" and then we charge into the system, trapping them in the bubble as they flee.. Annihilation!

The roam continues like that.. until we take a break and I go into town for some weekend shopping..
Coming home I hop on and see there is a fleet forming to counter a 100+ pilot proviblob!
We gather 100ish guys in various ships and head out to hunt ´em down!
They evade us for some time, jumping systems and using bridges to evade, until we got em on the gate of the neighboring system.
Now, they dont want to jump into us, and we dont want to jump into them.
We have eyes on them, and they probably had eyes on us.
What to do...
So our FC orders us away from the system, into the next, making it look like we are fleeing..
Our eyes on the enemy tells us after a while that they are starting to disengage from the gate, and are maybe taking another route away.. but some were left behind on the gate. (afk? dont listen? who knows!)
So he goes and traps ´em in a bubble, and we charge back through the system and jump into theirs!
Support spread out from the gate and our battleship fleet start pounding away.
I suppose the enemy fleet was in disarray, not coming back to the gate as a whole unit, but in packs and gets stuck in our bubbles and shot by our guns.
Long fight, our FC dies and a stand-in target-caller takes over and does well, as does our logistics.
The end result can only be this.

DOMINATING!
So much wrecks to loot and drones to scoop!
We had no time or room to take it all, the fleet was needed back around home again ;)

Pre-engagement our fleets were of similar size, and there was no lag to blame for CVA this time.
I say our fleet discipline, tactics and experience gave us this win.
What I would not give to listen to their voicecomms and hear what (if anything) was said.

Speaking of wich, my collection of battlereports for both sides of the D-GTMI battle is almost done,so I´ll post my "Blog-wars" post as soon as I think I got all of ´em.

Fly safe, fly "Air khan"

Friday 29 January 2010

What a warm welcome!

So I am back in space, after my trip abroad I wrote about last time..
Lots of things have transpired while I was gone, but thanks to my lovely Iphone I was able to follow events with Ushra´Khan and the war against CVA, the Goonies blundering with their wallets and whatnot..
(I admit I also forgot to pay my alt-corps hangar bill too once, but not much happens then.. unlike Goons) ;)

Right before I left (like an hour before I was due to leave) I went on a black ops roam I meant to write about, but there were so many newsposts to read over I never had the free time to write something up..
(also busy boozing and skiiing) ;)
Fortunately an alliance mate wrote about it HERE.
Was so damn fun, but it cost me some wife aggro.. apparently you are supposed to get ready the hours before departure on a long journey.. not play spaceships??!?!

Anyway, what is a more fitting return to space then this:

Thats right, we took the station in D-GTMI from CVA last night!
Epic fight, if abit one-sided..
Lag was not as bad as I feared, did not get any disconnects and even got off plenty of shots from my guns!
What CVA was doing in that fight is up for debate tho, and is being discussed on various forums, but I hope they learn some lessons and/or replace some FC´s ;)

Even as I stumbled off to bed from that fight last night, I took my Iphone and updated "www.evebloggers.com" as I always do before turning in, and already there were posts aplenty about the fight. A good write-up HERE.
-This got me thinking tho, in this war there are plenty of bloggers on either side, and I got to think on how they would spin this newsbit individually..
I mean, some might write it from their side, or try to be alittle objective.. and then some just try to churn out propaganda. :)
So I´ll try to find all the different bloggers for each "side" of this and make a little list.. If you know of one related to UK, -A-, SYS-K etc/CVA then make a comment or send me a mail/pm.

So.. next time I´ll post the first issue of.... BLOGWARS!

Fly safely, use a podbelt!

A new year, a new beginning.

Catch region, in a huge station a lone Gallente pilot enters a seedy bar.
The place is fairly crowded with mostly Matari capsuleers.. No ordinary crew admitted, and it shows on the crowd as it is a rather quiet and respectful air to the room.
He proceeds to the barkeep and orders their strongest home-made.
"Sure yer up fer that son?" the bartender asks with a grin.
The man laughs back "I´ve been in drinking games with the craziest bastards of our time, I´ll be fine."

The man takes a sip and surveys the crowd when the barkeep leans over and asks, "So what´s yer story?? Ye look a mite out of place."
The man snaps back his gaze to the barkeep, "Aye, aint I in the butthole of the universe now mh?" He laughs and sips his drink.
"But sure.. where do I start.."

"I been flying as a Pirate for near a year now, mostly with the organization known as The Python Cartel and it has been a great deal of fun and mayhem.
But sadly no matter how great fellas they might be, they aint sharin my work-hours so to speak.. and so most of the time I wake up and get to read their reports of all the fun they had while I was asleep.

Also, I got some major bounties on me right now, so Empire space is not safe.. -not even low-sec.
This seemed like a good time to realize my dream of living in the great wild with this group I´ve heard so much about during the years, the Mirkur Draug'Tyr of Ushra'Khan.
I admire their covert way of doing things, and the deadly guerilla warfare gangs they employ, plus out here my hunters cant really get to me that easy eh?

So it seems a good deal that I get some protection, make some new friends, explore some new space and still get to do what I love best, fly around and kill stuff."
The barkeep laughs and raises a drink in toast, "Aye, death to the slavers!" -He shouts with zeal.
A resounding "DEATH TO THE SLAVERS" is heard as the rest of the room picks up the call, their fists raised to the sky.

So There ye have it.
I´ve gone off the deep end, way down into nullsec.
My reasons in the in-character bit up there, but I will miss the Pythons fiercely, although they are all US pansies with their OPs late at night, the few I could attend I loved every second of.

Farewell, ye been a great bunch, and are highly recommended.
So far the new gang seems too good to be true, but I´ll reveal more as I get to know em. ;)

I really joined up in an exciting time for [UNITY], as we´re both fighting the Goons and the Slavers up north.. for a primer of the area I now live in read this bit by my new Ally OMBEY.
And now it is time to update the MAP I MADE a few months ago, when I looked at the world as a lowly pirate...

-This is my quick-paint version of how things are today..

Oh and a funny thing.. reading the alliance history HERE, i saw that they "began operations in Molden Heath, residing in the back water low security space of the Minmatar Republic."
-Wich is exactly where I started my EvE career. ;)

So maybe we are meant to be? So far so good..
Sadly I will be going on a weeks vacation starting saturday.
Who wants to ski around some silly slopes of Andorra when you can fly internet spaceships with new friends?? I´ll let ye know.

Market PvP!

So holidays are past, and time to get back into space!

Mostly been sitting in station when logged in during the holidays, been trying out some "Market PvP"

I was made aware of the massive fluctuations on the market on an item named "Technetium" by Helicity, and found a thread on EvE-forums where Akita-T talked about the "new bottleneck" in T2 production etc etc..
Was lots of talk about industrial stuff that I did not get, but I found this THREADMONSTER over at Scrapheap Challenge, and it really got me turned on to playing the market and investing in such things..

Apparently this is the deal:
CCP changed many T2 blueprints, and now many many more require items made by Technetium.. such as Nanotransistors and the like..
And, "Tech-moons" are apparently rare, or up north in space plagued by wars.
The ones that has crunched the math-numbers are figuring that Technetium will have to be above 100k in price, even up as far as 150k!

Prices have gone up and down since dominion... most of the market savvy folk bought at 10-20k, and have already sold and re-bought a few times if I am to believe forum posts.
They did not anticipate the prices being this wild I guess, but it got to be famous in a way.. so before it will stabilize over 100k, I estimate it will fluctuate wildly going up and down between 30-80k.
Just undocked from Jita as I am writing this and it was at 35k, so take the opportunity and buy some!
-Just dont use money you may need soon, as it might be february/march until the prices are real good.

In other news... soon there will be... HULKAGEDDON ! ! ! (2) ;)
Helicity is organizing this years slaughter of miners with even more prizes and events then last.
Already there have been cries of agony, and the event has not even started!
Poor Heli has even been compared to Hitler and Stalin by some upset individuals that cannot tell the difference between the game and real life, and believes Heli is some kind of evil twisted person.
*groans about humanity*
Anyway.. this will be great fun, read up more of it HERE.
