So I been back a little while, and trying to gather up my stockpile of ships and items all over the EvE-universe..
There were some exciting trips out to nullsec to gather some lost bombers etc, and some boring highsec truckin too.

But.. I had a big stockpile down in a highsec island (surrounded by lowsec) so I could not get that out so easily.. I mean battleships and other easy to catch targets.

Sure you can travel fit with cloak-mwd and avoid many camps, but I wanted to be smart about it.
And so I started scanning for wormholes in that highsec pocket, wormholes that leads to.. highsec!

I have seen those before (when not looking) and was hoping I would find one, and found one I did!

Oh the joy, it was even close to my new base of operations!
Not only did I skip having to haul past lowsec, but I saved 20+ highsec jumps off my journey!

Really should get a freighter, but that much cash could be spent on PvP instead.. :)

Now to get all cozy and look through my hoard, and sell off what I dont need, so that I am ready to move again when I find a corp to stay with.Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-21681544872131004262013-02-20T15:09:00.001+01:002013-02-20T15:09:21.983+01:00No matter where I try to hide..-EvE finds me and pulls me back in !!

Well.. I be back in game, or has been a while since before xmas.
I quit during my breakup period with me old girl and at the time, the game was getting pretty old for me.. seen it all done it all etc ;)
But you cannot escape the "evenews" pestering you with juicy events from outer space.. and you start to read up on patchnotes.. on blogs.. etc.. and you realize that much has changed, and it is looking good!

See, one of my main draws of this game was all the stuff there was to discover and learn, and try out.
A favourite pasttime is probably EFT fitting and forum browsing at work.. blogreading on the john.. and general planning of things to do whenever I have a spare moment in my head ;)

It does not help that my new girl is very supportive of gaming and likes to try and watch much of what I do.. so EvE lured me back in.

Now I´ve been catching up on changes and gotten my bearings.. just have to get moving out to combat again.. npc rats, even with the AI changes, do not pose much threat.

Soo many pvp fits already planned and urging to test, damn all the ship changes, so much to try!! :)

About blogging.. I aint sure if I´ll be writing much.. this is mainly to kill some time in the slow hours at work.. and I doubt anyone comes here after the long hiatus anyway.
We´ll see, it might happen as long as it is interesting.. making silly pix with paint is always fun ;)

Fly... into my guns!
Except for the silly "RL" game where I am busy with the new Puppy, I am also crafting the story in my head for the upcoming: Silver's Second Annual Fiction Contest
-Wich I intend to sign up for.. so look for the short story here soon!

In game I am out in a solo-cruise in a wormhole.. sneaking up on unsuspecting WH-dwellers in my special bomber-man ship ;-)
And I saw my first incursion last night with my PvE toon.. killed some random sansha in belts, but not sure how much good that did me.. could not find a fleet though, the channel was busy with folks "x-ing up" but never being accepted as it seemed..

Will try out "Minecraft" this weekend aswell, as if I did not have enough to do!
But I do enjoy the "treasure finding" part of games, like scanning down a Radar site or whatever, and finding lots of goodies.. so lets hope for diamonds right under my house!

Finally, I am working on a SOMER.blink post, in wich I try to "break" the game and find a safer way to play, but it has proven to be both costly and hard, as it is a really well done and thought out game.. in the house´s favor ofc.. ;-)

Not really bothered with it as I thought it could only be accessed through in-game browser, and while I play I got better things to do :)
BUT, it seems you only have to REGISTER through the IGB, and then can play from wherever!!

Soo.. perfect to be monitoring while at work, if some good deal shows up I want to gamble on :=)

Also, why I start with this now is that they are going to hold a special lottery for a TITAN and ticket price is only 500k ISK.. And while the chances are low of winning that, chances are even smaller if you dont play at all. :P

Back in the day I played some EvE Online Hold´em and DID PRETTY GOOD, hope I have just as much luck in this too eh??
Hullo folks.
It has been many months since my last confess.. err blogpost.
I have been playing the game and following all stories and blogs, but I felt that posting would be kinda boring as I have not been playing my PvP character (Yargok).
Reasons for this is highly personal, but long story short: Had no time to devote to roams and CTAs etc.

EvE is funny that way.. It makes you subscribe to a game where you are only logging in to switch skills training..
So Yarries account has been active and training this whole time.
I guess I did not get much bang for my buck, but as I knew I would be back I atleast got some long skills out of the way (Minnie cruiser V, Recon V, Logi V) etc etc

Also did train up to a carrier on my Indy character.. purely for logistic reasons. So if Yarrie were to deploy out to low sec or 0.0 I´ll want the transport to go smoothly ;)

So while I have some plans for Yargok such as wh hunting solo etc I also have other plans and goals I will be writing about here from now on.

"PvE and stuffz on a PvP blog? Outrageous!"
-Not really, as this has been inactive for so long, and I doubt anyone checks it.. I can write and do what I want! -And you imaginary readers cant object..
So there!
I just miss blogging.. so.. here we go!

This public service announcement was brought to you by Yarrie the ex Pirate and was inspired by THIS POST.
Peace.Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-77315523994152786782010-07-16T00:01:00.000+02:002010-07-16T00:01:24.592+02:00Fix lowsec yoHowdy.
I am jumping on the "fix lowsec now not in 18 months" bandwagon.
I was inspired by one of my new favourite reads AGRESSIVE TENDENCIES.
-That while I may not have the ideas and wit of Spec, I can try to help point the public in his direction ;)

So EVERYONE go and read/assimilate the wisdom of SPECTRE

Then if you are a blogger of such go sign up for the UEB!

Even if I now live out in 0.0 I still feel lowsec needs more work/love.
Please CCP, do not push us away, we are your lifeblood.. you are the body we pump around in!

Now to go pump someone full of 800mm repeating artillery slugs!Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-9559744664793045812010-07-04T21:55:00.000+02:002010-07-04T21:55:28.466+02:00Alt-itisAaaand I am back in the trap.

The Alt-sickness has taken over me anew!
It started way back when my wife stopped playing and I started using her account for hauling and trading etc etc.. It was a comfortable, but sadly an extra montly fee.

A few months back I figured I could stop that account and manage with just the one.. but sadly EvE is kind of made for dual-boxing and I have alt-itis. (cant refrain from making more alts!)
So now I am back with two accounts.. and 6 characters to manage ;)

It does feel good in a way, now I feel I can get carriers and such, and not worrying about others providing cyno wherever I want to go.. also with PI you can get more toons cranking out PI goods everywhere!
If you dont know what PI means your not playing EvE..and this is an EvE blog, so I wont teach you what you should know! *shakesfist*

So Helicity Boson (old corpmate from Python, who is also behind HULKAGEDDON) shared his idea of having an alt fly off into wormhole space, and do his Planetary Interaction there.
So now I have settled three planets full of aliens, where I churn out goods from two, and uses the third to refine the P1 products further.(more planets to come when he skills up)

I am also making POS fuel for my research-POS from one character.. and my trading-alt is now making P4 things out of P3 things, just outside the tradehub.

The gears of industry be grinding!

"Idustry you say? I thought this was a PvP blog"
Well it has been slow in Providence lately.. not had time to attend the big things, but my corp has really become active and we´ve had some fun roams down into Delve and lowsec Amarr-space (where we are nbsi)
We also had a T1 cruiser tournament that I felt I did really well in.. until the finals where I encountered the Maller of Doooom!
Second place not bad though, had great fun.

Ooh and T2 Autos are 3days from completion \o/
I trained Arties first.. as we were using sniper-BS most at that time.. but as soon as I got em.. alliance went all RRBS all the time
(our RRBS minniefits uses autos) :)

Ooh, and I found the first sig I used for Yargok today!
Now go read how Python CRUSHES FACEPLANTE !

The Python Cartel is recruiting!
---------------------------------------------
Here is some info from Andrea Skye:

Python has been around for nearly 3 years now (including original python) and our current variation has been round for over a year and were still as hard as ever.

Few things about our corp:

- We smack.. alot. If you don't like smack, we definitely aren't for you.
- We prioritize fun over everything else. If your a serious player who wants to win 100% of the time and don't like fails... we again.. aren't for you.
- Regular ops commanded by mostly drunk Fleet commanders.
- Small to medium gang warfare. We hardly ever blob. Most gangs have <10
What we are looking for:

- Moar EU/AUS pilots. Prio on EU.
- Pilots with a sense of humour
- Able to use vent and a mic (mic isn't mandatory, but very very encouraged)
- Activity. Don't bother joining if you log on once a month
- Pilots with initiative. Not pilots who just expect everything done for them. Going out soloing or forming your own gangs is very very encouraged.
- A little experience will go a long way. But if your app is good, and you seem like a good fit, we are willing to show you the ropes.
- We don't have a set SP requirement. Alot of our best pilots have been rifter noobs. We judge a character on attitude and experience, not how many SPs they have.
All that I need to do now is provide a link! here it is: http://www.swingnews.org/python/forum/index.php?board=3.0
------------------------------------------------------
I´d like to add that the Python Cartel was the most awesome corp that I has been a part of in ANY game.
They have competence, humor, teamspirit, great FCs, good leadership, and much much more.

When I left they had a lacking EU presence, and that is the reason I sought new hunting grounds, as it was a bit lonely during EU TZ, but as it looks like they have recruited some more EU players now, it may well be that Python is the most awesome corporation in new eden today!

The poor thing was created in 04 and was played for a month or two, and then has been laying dormant.

But it got me thinking back on EvE in the days of yore, how I percieved the world in my short stint of playing back then..
How did you percieve the world and your role in it? What did you like, fear or was impressed by?

For myself, it is over 5years since I first tried EvE, and my memory of it is fuzzy.
It is mostly kept as images in my head, but the few details I remember is that I pretty quickly found a corporation that recruited me, and they were building ships.
I remember they were very helpful, and I was impressed with their generosity of giving me a mining vessel, but also remember how proud I felt that I got to take part of their business venture.
I think I helped them with research between the mining sessions..
I remember the first time I found a corpmate in space, with my little frigate I flew up and in a formation with him and his huge vessel. For all I know it was probably just a industrial or whatever, but being new you dont know what is kickass and what is ordinary :)
(Sidenote: the Mammoth should really be a fighting vessel.. that model look very "star-destroyer" like!)
I have some vague memories of finding ore belts and mining there, so proud I had found a good place rich with resources..
I have always liked the "hidden treasures" thing.. so to this day the allure of a cache of hacking cans rich with loot waiting to be found does appeal to me greatly ;)
I did not play very long on my first venture into EvE.. I remember I was disappointed that you could not steer your ships, as I have found it helps immersion.
Also, it was a very dark and dangerous place.. I could not imagine why some would freely go down in to the "red areas" I saw on my universe map, where it was lawless and unforgiving.
I mean, I worked very hard for my first ships, and why I would go down and loose them was beyond me at the time..This is my mental image is of how the universe looked back then.

I read stories of pilots going "down there" and some mean pirate would destroy their ship and kill them.. and I remember as I tried to fiddle in the market at the time it was very confusing with escrow and whatnots, so when I tried to make some money taking something from A-B to, it was always a bunch of "red-space" in the way.

So I went off to other games, but having returned to New Eden years later I always try to remember what it was like to be in this cold-harsh world alone and lost.. Now 9UY is a bigger victory in UKs eyes, but CvA did not fight back then, and I´ve found little posts from CvA about 9UY.. (guess they did not want that station anyway) :P
So I compiled all the articles and bloggings about the battle of D-GTMI I could find.
(Yes I know it was a while ago, but I been so busy with first the invasion of 9UY, then Sylph doing a goon and dropping sov in three systems, allowing us to CAPTURE J6QB!! -But they actually fought back this time, so there has been constant CTAs for a few days until yesterday.. Good times.

Anyway, here for your perusal are all the bloggers I could find writing about the D-GTMI fight.
(Feel free to send me additional ones I´ve missed.)
But read em through and get yer own opinions ya lazy gits!
One thing I noticed that there were plenty of bloggers on each "side" not commentation on this particular subject, meaning there are plenty more bloggers out there!
Here she is, back in Ushra´Khan hands again.

Busy cap-ships repairing the damage we sadly had to inflict upon her to regain control..

Now just to clean out the CvA stink and put our own stink in it!

To summarize.. We formed up early and made our way to 9UY to be in place first if CvA were to make a stand for the system (as this was the final timer, and they had not yet done so.)
The system was secured and no large enemy gangs were reported, only a 20man Paxton gang, but we felt it did not pose a large threat to our numbers.
So, the timer finally reached zero, no enemy in sight yet, so there was naught else to do then to shoot and claim the station!

I think I´ll print myself a bumpersticker to put on my ships:
"I was there at the UNITY station takeover, and all I got was a shuttlekill"
I was reading the blogs of my former corp members in Python about how they killed a failfit dumb carrier in a belt..
Spectre, Skye, Langdon, Helicity, and a TBRA-dude has blogged about it.
And the very next day, I get to do the same!

You see, in the war against CVA+pets us Ushra´Khan and AAA has after taking the station in D-GTMI launched an attack on "9UY" -A very important tradehub and central traffic nexus for CVA.
The attack has not yet seen any resistance.. I dont know if they plan to let us have it for free or if they are running scared, but anyway..
While the big ships are doing their thing in attacking infrastructure hubs and the like, us support are spread around the gates and station, keeping it perma-bubbled and camped.
And since CVA has billions of assets in that station we have taken to keep a permanent presence there between timer-attacks.
It was during such a slow period, where we just chilled, circling the gate, when one of our scouts in the outlying systems yell on comms that he has found a carrier in an anomaly.
In fear that it might flee now that he is in system, he tackles it and hopes he can hold it until we arrive.
Sadly it had large neuts/smartbombs and managed to fend off our tackler before we got there.

Now, a smart individual would know that a few jumps away there are hundreds of more blood-thirsty enemies, and this lone one would have told his friends about the carrier.. so the smart guy would dock up.
We thought this was the case, but often in Providence there are plenty of the "not-so-smart-guy" category.

So our fleet held one system out and we sent in a neutral to try to scan him down and see if he were still in there..
Funny enough, when the neutral scout joined our fleet to go in there, someone in local warned everyone that he was a working for us!
It seems we had a spy in our fleet.
Funny, as Providence had accused -A- heavily on forums claiming meta-gaming and looking down their noses at spies and neutral informers.
So with the spy having tipped off the carrier we left and went back to 9UY and our camp..

However, after a while another neutral scout were sent off (not reported in fleet) to check if the carrier were really stupid enough to go back to the anomaly.
He was.
We were told by the FC to gather at the 49gate, as the carrier might get tackled.. "prepare to burn full speed"
And we did.
After making sure to stay out of his smartbombs there was naught else to to then grind him down.

As I drove to work this morning, I was met by a unusual red sunrise..
Got me thinkin about Legolas speech in the "Two towers" and how well it reflected what I saw last night in EvE.

Damn roaming in provispace is FUN!
I had a great day yesterday, with my day starting with riding some snowmobiles with me brothers, then after just a day for sale, my old snowmobile got sold and delivered!
I went inside to relax with some EvE and there was a inty/SB roam going on in Provi that Wotlankor FC´d, wich I promptly joined and flew to them with all haste.
He had some nice tricks, one in particular was great fun as it involved going into a system, scaring the miners/ratters and looking wich way they fled.. then bookmarking a spot in their way.. and leaving.
So after they thought we left, our interdictor warps in, bubbles a spot in their "flight-path" and then we charge into the system, trapping them in the bubble as they flee.. Annihilation!

The roam continues like that.. until we take a break and I go into town for some weekend shopping..
Coming home I hop on and see there is a fleet forming to counter a 100+ pilot proviblob!
We gather 100ish guys in various ships and head out to hunt ´em down!
They evade us for some time, jumping systems and using bridges to evade, until we got em on the gate of the neighboring system.
Now, they dont want to jump into us, and we dont want to jump into them.
We have eyes on them, and they probably had eyes on us.
What to do...
So our FC orders us away from the system, into the next, making it look like we are fleeing..
Our eyes on the enemy tells us after a while that they are starting to disengage from the gate, and are maybe taking another route away.. but some were left behind on the gate. (afk? dont listen? who knows!)
So he goes and traps ´em in a bubble, and we charge back through the system and jump into theirs!
Support spread out from the gate and our battleship fleet start pounding away.
I suppose the enemy fleet was in disarray, not coming back to the gate as a whole unit, but in packs and gets stuck in our bubbles and shot by our guns.
Long fight, our FC dies and a stand-in target-caller takes over and does well, as does our logistics.
The end result can only be this.

DOMINATING!
So much wrecks to loot and drones to scoop!
We had no time or room to take it all, the fleet was needed back around home again ;)

Pre-engagement our fleets were of similar size, and there was no lag to blame for CVA this time.
I say our fleet discipline, tactics and experience gave us this win.
What I would not give to listen to their voicecomms and hear what (if anything) was said.

Speaking of wich, my collection of battlereports for both sides of the D-GTMI battle is almost done,so I´ll post my "Blog-wars" post as soon as I think I got all of ´em.

Fly safe, fly "Air khan"Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-42901471016704935932010-01-29T18:14:00.000+01:002010-01-29T18:14:45.341+01:00What a warm welcome! So I am back in space, after my trip abroad I wrote about last time..
Lots of things have transpired while I was gone, but thanks to my lovely Iphone I was able to follow events with Ushra´Khan and the war against CVA, the Goonies blundering with their wallets and whatnot..
(I admit I also forgot to pay my alt-corps hangar bill too once, but not much happens then.. unlike Goons) ;)

Right before I left (like an hour before I was due to leave) I went on a black ops roam I meant to write about, but there were so many newsposts to read over I never had the free time to write something up..
(also busy boozing and skiiing) ;)
Fortunately an alliance mate wrote about it HERE.
Was so damn fun, but it cost me some wife aggro.. apparently you are supposed to get ready the hours before departure on a long journey.. not play spaceships??!?!

Anyway, what is a more fitting return to space then this:

Thats right, we took the station in D-GTMI from CVA last night!
Epic fight, if abit one-sided..
Lag was not as bad as I feared, did not get any disconnects and even got off plenty of shots from my guns!
What CVA was doing in that fight is up for debate tho, and is being discussed on various forums, but I hope they learn some lessons and/or replace some FC´s ;)

Even as I stumbled off to bed from that fight last night, I took my Iphone and updated "www.evebloggers.com" as I always do before turning in, and already there were posts aplenty about the fight. A good write-up HERE.
-This got me thinking tho, in this war there are plenty of bloggers on either side, and I got to think on how they would spin this newsbit individually..
I mean, some might write it from their side, or try to be alittle objective.. and then some just try to churn out propaganda. :)
So I´ll try to find all the different bloggers for each "side" of this and make a little list.. If you know of one related to UK, -A-, SYS-K etc/CVA then make a comment or send me a mail/pm.

So.. next time I´ll post the first issue of.... BLOGWARS!
No ordinary crew admitted, and it shows on the crowd as it is a rather quiet and respectful air to the room.
He proceeds to the barkeep and orders their strongest home-made.
"Sure yer up fer that son?" the bartender asks with a grin.
The man laughs back "I´ve been in drinking games with the craziest bastards of our time, I´ll be fine."

The man takes a sip and surveys the crowd when the barkeep leans over and asks, "So what´s yer story?? Ye look a mite out of place."
The man snaps back his gaze to the barkeep, "Aye, aint I in the butthole of the universe now mh?" He laughs and sips his drink.
"But sure.. where do I start.."

"I been flying as a Pirate for near a year now, mostly with the organization known as The Python Cartel and it has been a great deal of fun and mayhem.
But sadly no matter how great fellas they might be, they aint sharin my work-hours so to speak.. and so most of the time I wake up and get to read their reports of all the fun they had while I was asleep.

Also, I got some major bounties on me right now, so Empire space is not safe.. -not even low-sec.
This seemed like a good time to realize my dream of living in the great wild with this group I´ve heard so much about during the years, the Mirkur Draug'Tyr of Ushra'Khan.
I admire their covert way of doing things, and the deadly guerilla warfare gangs they employ, plus out here my hunters cant really get to me that easy eh?

So it seems a good deal that I get some protection, make some new friends, explore some new space and still get to do what I love best, fly around and kill stuff."
The barkeep laughs and raises a drink in toast, "Aye, death to the slavers!" -He shouts with zeal.
A resounding "DEATH TO THE SLAVERS" is heard as the rest of the room picks up the call, their fists raised to the sky.

So There ye have it.
I´ve gone off the deep end, way down into nullsec.
My reasons in the in-character bit up there, but I will miss the Pythons fiercely, although they are all US pansies with their OPs late at night, the few I could attend I loved every second of.

Farewell, ye been a great bunch, and are highly recommended.
So far the new gang seems too good to be true, but I´ll reveal more as I get to know em. ;)

I really joined up in an exciting time for [UNITY], as we´re both fighting the Goons and the Slavers up north.. for a primer of the area I now live in read this bit by my new Ally OMBEY.
And now it is time to update the MAP I MADE a few months ago, when I looked at the world as a lowly pirate...

-This is my quick-paint version of how things are today..

Oh and a funny thing.. reading the alliance history HERE, i saw that they "began operations in Molden Heath, residing in the back water low security space of the Minmatar Republic."
-Wich is exactly where I started my EvE career. ;)

So maybe we are meant to be? (2) ;)
Helicity is organizing this years slaughter of miners with even more prizes and events then last.
Already there have been cries of agony, and the event has not even started!
Poor Heli has even been compared to Hitler and Stalin by some upset individuals that cannot tell the difference between the game and real life, and believes Heli is some kind of evil twisted person.
*groans about humanity*
Anyway.. this will be great fun, read up more of it HERE.Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-11564855777126709072009-12-29T17:15:00.001+01:002009-12-29T17:23:50.577+01:00Moby Dick in space!Soo, I was playing whale-hunter the other day, and caught me a big fat ORCA!
But funfact: Orcas are called "Killer Whales" but they are actually part of the Dolphin family. ;)

Background:
I had been out taking care of the gazillions of snowflakes that had found it necessary to land on my yard, thus creating meter-high snowpiles.. and what better way to wind down and relax then fly some spaceships!?!?

So I logged on and found only "Jaxxon Voers" and "Kyle Langdon" active in our system, and as both are corpmates I cant really shoot em.. much.
But a roam to the nearby busy "Old man star" felt too taxing, so I took out my old Harbinger and flew it to a ninjaspot near the highsec gate in the system.

Usually you have a scout on the other side of the gate, so you know when something is about to jump in, and what it is.. but I felt silly and just wanted to attack whatever came, be it a huge factionwarfare blob, or a lone hauler.

But nothing came through.
It was just us three Pythons in local doing nothing really.. chatting a bit and maybe browsing something silly with the in-game browser :)

But suddenly local went up by one, and i quickly hit the warp button.
Pulse went up, excitement on what was going to materialize..
Waited.. nothing.. "cant be a threat to me, as he dares not decloak, or he is waiting for friends" i thought.

Suddenly slightly below me the massive hull of an Orca materialized.
Many thoughts rushed through my head, "Is he alone, naah cant be.. can I take him? not likely as this ship cant tank gateguns for too long and they usually have a worthy tank.." etc etc..
But fuckit, I can always warp out if it wont work.. so I locked and warp-disrupted him.

ORCA ON GATE, POINT!
-I shouted in corp-chat, and though my friends got excited, they did not have any big ships in system.. (we´re in a vacation-system atm so not everyone has thier entire ship-selection here)
But being the warriors they are, they came to lend what help they could, Jaxxon in a Thorax and Kyle in a Rifter.
-The orca had some ECM-600 drones that actually broke my lock initially, but as it is slow to align and warp I managed to get the point back on before it got away.

The gateguns were hurting me badly, and with only one repper my Harbinger was going into structure now.. everything had been overheated and red warningsigns lit up the cockpit.
"I have to bail, trying to go get a bigger ship.. hold him if you can, but take no risks in vain"
-I said as I warped off to our station nearby..
And held him they did.
Kyle managed to bump him with the Rifter, so that he could not align to gate or other objects, while Jaxxon tanked the gateguns and kept a point in his hero-tanked Thorax.

Never has the "wait 20+ seconds in station before switching ships" felt sooo long.. But finally my Armageddon-class battleship lumbered out of the docking bay and warped to the gate as fast as it could.
I landed and locked it up again, relieved that it was still there, and Jaxxon warped off with his ship trailing fire. He told me later that he had not been able to hold out many seconds more.

Now with the superior tank of the Armageddon, and Kyles bumping keeping the Orca from getting back to the gate it was just a matter of shooting it to pieces.

And shoot it I did.

(The wreck of the Orca)

Sadly the loot-gods did not look kindly to killing endangered dolphin-whales so the rewards were bad, but the encounter was worth many millions to the three happy pirates.

Much cheering was had, and 15 seconds after we left the gate our esteemed leader mr "Spectre3353353" came online.. and so we got to tease him that had he been just a little faster he could have had the joy of killing an Orca.
-He blamed hot coco or something.. :)

I want to thank my Harbinger for taking such a beating and still flying, Jaxxon´s hero-Thorax and Kyles mad bumping-skills. *salute*

(What is left of my Harbinger)Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-10103157820264846502009-12-22T17:21:00.000+01:002009-12-22T17:31:02.361+01:00Dramiel 101I´ve seen some forumposts and blogs about the Dramiel lately, so I thought I´d share what I know of this awesome ship.

First, read Skye´s blog.
That is the AC fit.

Then go to contracts, type in "DRAMIEL" and get one close to you, or go to Jita where most seems to be.
-While in Contracts screen, type in "Gistii B-Type 1MN MicroWarpdrive" and buy one of those too.
Some might get cheap here and opt for a normal MWD, but it is the key factor for this fit, as it allows you to be cap stable, zipping around at 6000m/s laughing at anything trying to catch/shoot ye.

For the rest of the fit, I opted to go with Jaxxon´s Arty fit, as I saw him topping the damage-charts on it when the Pythons did Amamake (look at dec 8:th)
And I liked the idea of staying further out if in a gang and target being tackled by others.

[Dramiel, Arties]
Micro Aux Power Core
Tracking Enhancer II
Overdrive Injector System II

Gistii B-Type 1MN MicroWarpdrive
Warp Disruptor II
Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Cap Recharger II

250mm Light Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion S
250mm Light Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion S
[Heatsink]

Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Small Ancillary Current Router I

Warrior II x4

-------------------------------------
Then practise flying it.
Train on some belt rats or a can whatever, but get used to going really fast around your target.
-It gets tricky when there are multiple targets on the field, as you dont want to get too close and get scrammed, but most of the time even then, your speed carries you out of scram-range.

Look at Skyes "How to tackle a sniper-ship" over at Spectre.

The Dramiel has been a part of 193 kills in Python and we have only lost 4.
(I think two were to gateguns, cant speed-tank those!! -Silly Pythonlemmings )
But the one where a Cruor got his faction web on Brick stands out, steer clear of things with web/scram bonuses mmmkay? ;)

I cant remember if you needed AWU IV for this (Advanced Weapon Upgrades, makes guns req less powergrid) but there are also implants that does the trick.

If you do it right, you will get plenty of kills in this, they are just awesome when they are in a gang or flock or.. flight, whatever :)
100m is alot for a Frigate I agree, but you must factor in both how big the chance of you dying in it are, also how bloody fun it is to fly!

...Plus it looks good. ;)Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-56109905691579655782009-12-16T16:38:00.004+01:002009-12-16T17:05:08.998+01:00RL job in EvE?Just want to discuss what I do and what you do in the daily chore that can be translated into EvE :)

-But first, the obligatory "Omg we get a Zephyr" post every blogger is doing..
"Omg Zephyr free shuttle with probes and sleeper-safe!!"
There.

Ok then, I thought of this last night as a corpmate were talking about what he was doing for a RL job.. "What would my job be like in EvE-terms?"
-----------------------
I suppose you could say my day would start with waking up in a backwater planet, -20celcius outside and my shuttle covered with snow.

I would travel a few jumps to a small station in wich I would sit down in my office of a Minmatar/Gallente ship-dealership.
There I would be ordering ships from the various producers, handling the payment of customers and helping with insurance and ship-loans.

Ofcourse there is the customary drinking alot of coffee.. and communing with my Pirate-buddies on what we are going to be up to later in the day, and what some had been up to while I was asleep.

Then the long trip home after 9+ workhours and after a quick bite to eat I jump into the pod for some Piracy!
----------------------------
-That is the general layout of what a normal day for me would be like in EvE-terms.. what is your RL job like? Are you a "student of hedion university" or.. truckdri..err Freighter-pilot?

-Also, I commented on "Bfoster" that I missed his "Babe of the week" and set out to find something hot.. sadly I failed but found something entirely different yet just as arousing!!

(click for larger)

Holy crap that is a sexy picture!
It says "Alex Murtaza" in the top left corner.. props!Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-16900762812845553372009-12-07T16:00:00.000+01:002009-12-07T16:22:43.938+01:00Mining with Carrier?Greetings and Salutations!
This is the breakdown of last nights events in "Dour"
(Actually a pretty cheerful system..for us.)

"I´ve said it before, dont do something dangerous for too long in EvE, eventually someone will find out and counter it."
-Spectre3353355533(tm)

What transpired last night started with a call in "Python public" (where all the cool kids hang) -that there were a mining op going on in a system named "Dour" and it consisted of a few barges and a carrier.

"Dour" we said, where is that? -Oh not very far!! Shall we go check it out? -Sure! Fast gankships!
Or something like that... :)

We set out a few of us in stuff like Taranis, Jaguar, Rapier and a few more got the news and started off as time went by.

We stopped one system before and sent a scout, crap! -They were not in a belt, but rather mining in a grav-site or a mission!!

A prober-alt were quickly sent for, and it gave time for more allies to join up on our position.

Our competent prober went in and quickly got a hit on four barges, and warped in cloaked to have a look.
"They are all in a big grav-site, mining.. but pretty far off from eachother, with the carrier and a Deimos in the middle."

We reasoned that simply warping into the middle and going for em would probably let a few get away.. so we had the prober make four bookmarks, one for each miningbarge, and come back to the system we were waiting in and deliver them.
Then four squads were formed, and so each squad would warp right ontop of each barge and blast it and get out.

It worked Pretty damn well! -I think one got away, or if it only were three.. its fuzzy :)

Funny enough, the Carrier and Deimos warped off, so we stuck around and looted some stripminers and whatnot.. (damn the small holds of the Taranis!!)
-Until an Onyx warped into the site.
"Kill that Onyx!" Our esteemed FC mr Spectre333553353, quickly ordered.
It had a pretty good shield, but soon a Thorax warped in, so we switched dps to that and it blew up in a few seconds! (Horrible fit)
Before we could get back to the Onyx the Carrier returned along with a Myrmidon and Sleipnir.. so we decided to get out while we were ahead..

Skye and Brick in their Keres(?) and Vaga stuck around far off range and played with them alittle.. they only sent the carriers fighters after em, but after two died (apparently worth around 15mil) the carrier pulled the rest back and left.

The gang was about to leave so our bold fighters warped in and caught the Sleipnir.
We said "fuck it" and warped in to engage, and to our surprise, when we landed the Myrm and Onyx left!
What? their big advantage leaves? Oh this is just too good.
So we melted the Sleip down, watching scan for the gang.. nothing... until he explodes then the lone Onyx warps in.
That is also taken care of, but it had a nice tank, my Caldari Antimatter did little damage to his huge resist tank!
-Even if it took a good while to get him down, no help came... until he was dead ofcourse, when the Myrm finally comes.
We are a bit confused with their tactics of sending the ships one and one, and this Myrm did not do much damagewise.. had a hell of a tank tho!

So we start working on the Myrm, slowly getting him down, but his peak recharge was a tough nut.. Fortunately they provide some entertainment to what was a long kill with sending a lone flycatcher on top of us.
PEW -It does in a heartbeat.. thank ye!

Back to the Myrm and we dare not overheat guns more, plus Spec is running out of Ammo!
Skye then finds some medium EMP in a wreck for Brick to up his damage with, and finally IT GOES DOWN!
-Spec had three rounds left, I think I had 21.. Poof goes my ship and pod, my screen comes back to the view of a stations insides.. *mutters*

So I upgraded my clone, grabbed an Incursus and thought I´d fly through Hisec to catch up with them... undock, warp to gate....DARKNESS!
Once again while "blind" all I can do is wait for it to come back, hoping nothing bad is waiting..
But this was a gate to highsec that is rarely camped...right?
Wrong, I hear the discharge of huge hybrid guns and hey presto! -Once again my screen comes back to the view of this damn station.

That Megathron must have thought me dumb to land on the gate with him, and staying long enough for him to lock, kill, and then lock pod and kill that...

Cheap GFX card anyone?
Not sure if it is Asus or ATI to blame, but I´ll try different older driver versions tonight..Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-64177907160036260512009-11-23T14:51:00.003+01:002009-11-23T15:12:07.422+01:00Iphone+blogz=Win!Just want to do a bit of advertising..

Got my Iphone now, after struggling if I should get it for sooo long. :)
(I like the phones that fold so the display is protected.. also, I dislike Apple) ;)

Pretty handy phone/mini-computer, but the main reason to get it is:
CAPSULEER
Wich I heard of a while back on Roc´s blog.. but did not see much use for it (it said you could keep track of your training queue etc)
But I am pretty good at remembering to train, so that did not feel like a necessary feature.

BUT!
It also has the latest CCP news/devblogs PLUS all the blogpack blogs!

So if yer headin for the john/a train or busride/eating breakfast etc etc.. forget newspapers!
Start Capsuleer, open the blogspage and click update.. then ye have all the reading you can ever want!

P.S Mad props to Mynxee for her Aurora voice.Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7121588554201334333.post-8489318018878399732009-10-17T17:38:00.000+02:002009-10-17T17:52:08.278+02:00Ma ma ma pokerface...Hello.

This is the story of a noob among the sharks at the big EOH 2-year anniversary.

Well, the background is that i have been lurking around the low-stakes
sit and go tables on the EvE poker sites, being curious on tournaments
but felt that the price were too high to stumble in and try.

But as my previous post said, EOH held a freeroll tournament last
weekend to celebrate The big 2-year anniversary.
The deal was this: show up and sign up at the specified time, and when
the table had 200 signups the game was on.
All we knew in advance was that there were no entry-fee, and that the
winner would get 5Billion!
There were some rumors about additional prices but nothing confirmed.

So at the specified time, the tables filled up and at 204 players Selene (the owner) launched the big event!

My initial expectations were low.. after all, I would be facing up against seasoned poker veterans and I set my goals to finish atleast 100/204 and under.

I´ll write down a little from memory how it played out, just writing down some key hands and stuff.. lots of hands inbetween that I either dont remember or were unimportant:

First off it went pretty well.. I played safe but called some fools who obviously thought that "i´ll try to scare off a few and bet big.. who cares if I loose it is the start of the tourney anyway"
So my stack grew steadily and even were chipleader at my table a while, before I got moved.
(as players gets eliminated they swich current players around to fill up the tables)

Had my first dip into low chips around the 100players left mark, got a little reckless as I was nearing my goal of 100/204 so I got into trouble.
However, a lucky straight saved me and I doubled up, then I got into a all-in situation where a straight saved me again, landing me in good position again.
Lucky.

At the first paus there were 59/204 players left, I was very happy, having far succeeded my expectations.. I figured that I would play it slow from now, only betting when I get some good cards and hope that I get good hands when I have little or big blind.
-This is generally a bad idea when the blinds are so big, as I at that point had about 4000 in chips and the blinds were at 2000/4000.
Should have stolen some pots to get ahead, but at this point I just wanted to see how long I would last. :)

After break it starts with me having to put the Small blind, get a A/4 of diamonds and goes all in.
-Flop is Qd/7d/Ah -Exciting!
No more diamonds on the turn and river, but my pair of aces wins me about 8k. ;)
(only about 50players left now..)
Next flop is A/Q of hearts and all in again.. put my 8k into the pot and it wins me 17k!

Siigari Kitawa, whom I´ve seen plenty on the tables, and is a banker/funny guy in chat gets eliminated at this point at 37:th place.. cant believe my luck for having laster longer then him!

Slow play it a little bit after this, to calm down.. but a 10/9 of hearts and a bluffer has me puttin in 5k, then five more. then 5 more and boom 37k into the pocket!

Have to post Big blind wich is at 10k now, and gets a lousy 3/3.. feels a little bummed..
then next flop I throw away A/4 and the flop is 4/3/A
Hmpf.

After this I need to feel better about myself so when I get a Ah/Kc I throw in some cash.
10k... 10k.. ALL IN!
Boom 60k into the pockets, feelin good again.

Big blinds now at 15k, so its getting costly, loose a BB, but only 20players left!

I realize now that I might make it to the final 10.
We now know that the 2-10 finishers will also get a price, but what is not known.
I think about this point I threw a 4/9 and the flop was 9/10/9.. hate to see that. ;)

Playing it slow now, just trying to stay in the game, blinds just keeps getting raised.. so just chilled and tried to survive the blinds.. won a big but lost a small..

12 players to go, im on the button.

11...

Final table! 37.300 in the stack and blinds at 15000/30000. EEEK!

I hang in there a bit, but blinds getting to 20.000/40.000...so in trouble!

Forced to go All-in due to blinds on my 7h/Qd and.. splat.

Me and another guy gets eliminated..but NINTH PLACE!
I´m happy. *cheers and waves a flag*

(I am 6pac btw.. had to get the new acc due to the old not being back in time)

Anyway.. I stick around the table, watching who would take first place..

It quickly ends up with Asuka_Smith and LordTyMan heads up.

I actually lost some pots to Asuka when we were at the same table earlier in the tournament, and knew he was pretty agressive, so at first I hoped he would loose.. but seeing his skill at raking in the chips I began cheering him on.. and win he did.

Grats to Asuka Smith of the Aduro Protocol for the first place and 5Billion ISK

And Grats to me for 9:th place and 250Million ISK :)

So there it is.. the tale of how a lucky noob can win a few iskies on his first tournament.
And if I can do it, so can you!
Go out there and play some EOH POKER!

- Yargok out.Yargokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08415091931962586382noreply@blogger.com1
